"Yard Shadow Tin Men" Made of Recycled Cans And Kitchen Funnels

These "Yard Shadow Tim Men" were spotted outside the Burlington Inn Antique Center on Route 4 in Burlington, CT. Crafted by Gerald Hayes of Torrington, CT, these metal men are made from old cans and plastic funnels spray painted for their hats.

Gerald referred to them as " Yard Shadows", so I decided to look into the term.What I discovered is that most "Yard Shadows" are made from wood and often time painted black to look like silhouettes. Some artist do paint them in different colors They are intended as yard art or ornamentation.
